How a Life Planner Can Fix Your Life
In this day and age, we need so much more from our life planner than just a to-do list and a calendar. We need a life planner that can truly organize it all.
If you’ve purchased different planners in the past but they never worked out for you, I think I know why.
This is why you never used your daily planner.
- It didn’t have everything you needed to get organized.
- It became a chore itself having to use it every day.
- You weren’t sure how to use it to organize your life.
It’s a shame that these reasons prevent so many people from utilizing a tool that can make a huge change in their lives. When given the right planner and the right mindset, they can have it all 100% organized.
Everyone needs a life planner that has categories. A day-by-day agenda isn’t going to cut it for our crazy lives. We need more! We need our life planner to include everything we do throughout the year.
What should you put in your life planner?
- Short & long-term goals.
- To-do lists.
- Grocery lists.
- Meal prepping.
- Social Calendars.
- Contacts.
- Password Keeper.
- Bills & budgeting.
- Holiday planning.
- Healthy Meal Ideas.
This list is just the beginning of how many categories we can organize in our lives. If we choose to ignore and not organize these thoughts, we will forever live on an exhausting roller coaster of never-ending to-do lists.
If you feel like using a daily planner is a chore itself, it’s probably because you don’t have the right planner. You need to search for a planner that will inspire you. One that will help you get so organized you can’t imagine going back.
Whether you use a digital planner, make one yourself, or use a printable version, all that matters is that you find something that works for you.
Still not convinced a life planner can help fix your life? Check out these five reasons you should reconsider!

01 | YOU WILL HAVE A CLEAR MIND
We think our minds are master multitaskers, but our minds slow down when overworked. When you take a moment to think about how much you think about in a day, it’s outstanding. Our thoughts are racing with fears, future commitments, to-do lists, & about a thousand other things all at once.
Give your mind a break by writing it down. Not just writing it anywhere, but in an organized way in a life planner. Knowing that the thought has been given attention and will not be lost, can help you clear your mind of it.
02 | YOU WILL STAY MOTIVATED TO REACH YOUR GOALS
You’d be surprised how often we forget about our goals. As life goes on, we lose focus, drive, & motivation for what we wanted to achieve. To prevent this write out your goals in greater detail in a life planner.
By doing this you are accomplishing a few things.
- You can be honest with yourself about your goals.
- Your goals can be trackable with daily, weekly, or monthly check in’s.
- Visualizing the goal can be more substantial than just thinking about it. Seeing it down on paper makes it real.
03 | YOU WON’T MISS ANYTHING IMPORTANT
How often have you forgotten to take the trash cans out, paid the rent on the 1st, or blown by a friend’s birthday? It happens to all of us.
Using a life planner takes this a step further. You can plan out months in advance of rare events and to-do’s that you normally might forget. Such as when the car registration is due, subscription renewals, 3-day holiday weekends, annual exams, anniversaries, etc.
So much occurs in a year, don’t miss out on a single thing because you had nowhere to write it down & access it on a regular basis.
04 | YOU WILL BE ABLE TO TRACK PROGRESS CLOSELY
Goals need nurturing. They need research, attention, check in’s, and motivation to prevail. What better place to track all of these things than in a life planner you use on a daily basis.
Tracking methods can be simple or as complex as you need them to be to watch for progress. Check out some of the tracking ideas for your life planner you might want to try out below.
- Weight loss tracker.
- Exercise tracker.
- Debt tracking.
- Savings tracking.
- Vision boards.
- Habit tracker.
- Food log.
- Happiness tracker.
- Wellness tracking.
05 | YOU WILL FEEL IN CONTROL
So few things in life are in our control. How we organize our lives is one of them. You can categorize your thoughts, budget your bills, & never miss a birthday again, by controlling your life through a daily planner.
There is a lot of power in organization. If there weren’t, people wouldn’t be so attracted to the idea of getting everything organized. It promotes order, calmness, & a sense of security that can’t be matched with anything else.
So, are you ready to start using a life planner today? Then you need to find the one that suits you best!
Not all planners are created equal. What you might need to get organized won’t be in an average planner you can purchase it from Amazon. If you need more, then I would suggest taking a look at the following life planners below!
These life planners were created with more detail than you’ve seen in an average planner.
They challenge you to organize every category of your life! The following planners are printable PDFs. You download them to your computer, print them, & put them into a simple 3-ring binder.
You can print out as many copies of pages as you like and you can reduce the size on your printer settings for smaller printouts, it’s completely flexible to what will suit you.

Hello i am kavin, its my first time to commenting anywhere, when i read this article i thought i
could also make comment due to this good post.
I have a planner,it’s all filled in for the month. My issue is I have trouble remember to check it daily. And yes it’s placed in a visible place. Suggestions?
Hi Barb! This tends to be my issue as well! I get everything filled out but then forget to actually check it on a regular basis. I would suggest two different things to try. One is to set an alarm on your phone for the same time to check your planner. It takes 21 days to develop a new habit, eventually, you will be checking your planner without the assistance of the alarm. The other thing you can try is to coorelate checking your planner with something you do every single day. Maybe when you have your morning tea/coffee you read the paper or scroll through your phone. Do not allow yourself to start those activities until you’ve checked your planner. In fact, maybe your planner needs to physically move to the coffee pot that way you can’t even start brewing a cup until you’ve opened it up. I believe we often over think these things as something that will take too much of your already limited time. When in reality checking your planner daily might only take you all of 3 minutes! Don’t let this step in your day overwhelm you into thinking it is bigger than it is. You are in control! Let me know how it goes!
Thank you for the suggestions. Will try the alarm setting. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
