How to Get Organized with Binders

How to Get Organized with Binders

Have you ever considered getting your home and life organized with binders? It’s a lot easier than you think! Once you’ve started you’ll never want to go back to any other home organizational system again.

Paper & mental clutter is notorious for stopping our organizational efforts in their tracks. We all want a system that will not only work but will be easy to use daily.

That’s where getting organized with binders is going to seriously help you transform your home and life into a much more relaxed version of the one you’re living right now!

There are two types of binder organization systems.

  1. One Big Binder. This colossal binder will hold any information you are looking to organize in your life.
  1. Multiple binders. Use as many binders as you need to categorize your information in an easy-to-use format.

Both systems are great and it all depends on what you feel would work best for you and your family. If you have tons of papers and categories then using multiple binders might be the best bet.

Another advantage to multiple binders is how much more opportunity you will have to create sub-categories within each binder to get super organized.

Exactly what you should be putting in your organizing binders.

This is probably the only difficult part of getting organized with binders. Figuring out what it is that you wish to organize. Once you figure this out though, your life will get a whole lot easier.

So let’s put in the work to get you to your overall goal; an organized life!

HOLIDAY PLANNER BINDER. The holidays hit us like a hurricane sometimes and without a budget or a plan we could end up overwhelmed, with drained bank accounts. The holiday planner binder will help you organize all the details so you can just sit back and enjoy the holiday.

How to make your binders look pretty.

Now that you have a better understanding of what to put in these organizing binders it is time to figure out how you want them to look.

This is an opportunity for you to not only organize your life within the binders but keep your physical environment organized as well. Luckily, binders have a very sleek design already which makes them very easy to blend into any space.

What makes a difference will always be size and color. Purchasing your binders at the same time will ensure that they are all the same size and/or color.

Black, white, grey, blue, or even a fun rainbow will give your organized binder system a beautiful flow that will be visually appealing as well as functional.

The same can be said for the divider tabs you decide to use within your binders. If your handwriting is beautiful by all means, write out your tabs yourself, but if your handwriting is not, consider a label maker or printing out the tabs from the computer for a fresh clean look throughout.

Do not forget to label the spine of your binders. This is how you will be able to tell which binder is which.

Since this is what you will see every single day, take the time to create a label for the spine that you will love. Print it out, use a label maker, or take a chance on writing it out if your penmanship is an A+.

Another great thing to consider for your binders is clear page protectors for documents you wish to not hole punch. There are dozens of different types of these inserts and some are even designed for recipe cards!

Where should you organize your binders?

You now have these gorgeous, organized, and hopefully color-coded beauties and it’s time to figure out exactly where to display them.

Every home will have a different place and a different system, but one thing remains the same for everyone.

Make sure they are accessible!

If you tuck away these binders on the top shelf of a closet, you will never use them.

Don’t let that happen to you!

If you took your organizing binders to a new level by making sure they will look good with your home esthetic then you will be able to put them anywhere in your home.

Here are a few examples of where you can store or display your organizing binders.

  • In a drawer.
  • On a wall-mounted shelf.
  • In a kitchen cupboard.
  • On the kitchen counter.
  • On a bookshelf.
  • On a rolling cart.
  • In a basket.
